Today I met a really nice guy during work... and now I feel that I owe him a favour which I won't be able to return....
Today started off smoothly when I went to meet a client and he signed quite a big contract with me.... I was at a ulu ulu part of Tuas where buses and taxis, cars and even trucks are no where to be found. And of course, I took a cab there lah...
But after my first appointment I had to rush to another appointment whish was at the other side of Tuas, so based on the map I had in my hand, I walk quickly hoping to find my bus stop.... But the route in the map and in reality is different leh... The path towards my bus stop is a deadend.... So I had no choice but to take the opposite direction, hoping to try my luck in finding another bustop....
I ended up getting lost and so I decided to just walk and walk until I find someone whom I can check the directions with. After walking aimlessly for 10 minutes, I saw two guys (1 uncle and 1 young chap of my age) walking ahead of me and they seem like nice people so I turned towards them hoping to catch up with them. Then strangely the uncle saw me and the young chap walked towards me instead, and before I could ask "do you know where is the nearest bus stop?", the guy askd me "which company are you looking for?"... So I laughed and told him that I'm looking for a bus stop, not company.
The young chap, by the name of Jason, which I found out at the later part, then told me that the nearest bus stop is pretty par away, would probably take 30 minutes to walk there.. And I was like thinking "shit" in my mind, and wanted to thank him and carry on my aimless walk.... But Jason actually offered to give me a ride to the bus stop, and even the uncle who was standing quite far away said he should give me a ride... I was like so paiseh, and of course no matter how nice people look, girls have to be cautious.... Especially in ulu places like this....
But well, I had no choice, because I also didn't want to walk aimlessly and end up be late for my appointment... so I took the ride.... When I was walking behind Jason to collect his car, I thought he was driving a lorry or a van... but I was wrong, he was driving a Subaru WRX.... Anyway I enjoyed the ride because we had short conversation about the place and our jobs... and he seemd like a real nice guy who was just simply nice to everyone.
He dropped me off at the bus stop and we exchanged our namecards, just a courtesy gesture lah... Then I was waiting for my bus for like forever when I saw his car drive pass on the opposite side of the road... thinking that he should be on the route back to his office... but I was wrong.. he made a Uturn and stop infront of me and asked if I wanted to go to Jurong Point as he was going there... I was honestly going there lah, so I took his ride again... But just felt very paiseh that why this stranger can be so helpful to someone he just met....
Then to make things even more surprising, he asked me where I was going, and I told him I was going to Boon Lay Interchange to take a bus to Chin Bee... Then he said it was actually nearby, on the other side of Tuas, and offered to send me there instead.... Oh My God... he is such a nice person... going the extra mile for a stranger like me..... He took out his GPS, keyed in the route, and drove me there.... He even made sure that he dropped me off right in front of my client's place.... I'm overwhelmed by his gesture....
I really met a Mr. Nice Guy..... But I just felt bad that there was no way I can thank him again.... Probably next time if I have a appointment near his office, I'll drop by with chocolates to thank him... =)
