Mommy's 58th Birthday!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Today we had a pre-birthday celebration for mommy.

Firstly we brought her to Citychain at Novena Square to choose her birthday gift. Mommy had wanted to get a new casual watch to wear during work, and the old one she had been wearing for quite some time liao. So we brought her there to choose the design she likes. Siong siong blame me for not giving her the surprise element. But it's not that I don't want to give her surprise, but its that I really don't know what design to get for her. Expecially when mommy already has a Rolex, everything else seems so "common".

But of course Mommy wanted something casual and less expensive to wear for work. She finds that wearing her Rolex daily will be too flashy. Luckily mommy found the watch she likes and it was a Titus white face watch with "diamonds" surrounding it.

After present shopping, we headed to United Square to have our sumptous dinner buffet! It was at Vienna International Buffet Restaurant. Baby actually went there recently with his colleagues, and find that the food was quite good. So we bought mommy there to have a hearty dinner. There were quite alot of choices, from seafood to sushi, to shashimi, to buddha jump over the wall, to shark's fin soup, to beijing ducky, to black pepper crab, to fried crab tonghoon, to teppanyaki, and to lots and lots of dessert! I would say their choices are of huge variety and not the common stuff we eat. On top of that, their food are all very nice and tasty! I like!

Family Photo! Mommy and we 3 maskateers!

The last photo was very difficult to take because in order to capture the colourful waterfall, we couldn't on the flash. So this was one of the best shots! Too bad daddy didn't join us, he always don't, because daddy doesn't really like to eat out.

Overall, we were glad mommy enjoyed herself! Heez! We are going to celebrate her actual birthday on 29th April... Heez....!! Love you mommy!

I'm so Sick!!!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

I have been sick for several days liao. Itchy throat leading to uncontrolled coughs.... I guess the stress at work and the environment I have to work under has taken a toll on me. It's almost everyday that I have to walk under the blazing hot sun while carrying bags that are like, 7-10kg?

Perhaps my body just hasn't got used to this working style. But! I'm not so fragile ok?.... I will conquer all the stress!...all the obstacles!....and I'll be the top notch sales executive in MCBI!

I realised that I have not been blogging as frequently as the past. Perhaps it's because I got too occupied with my work and home chores, that I didn't really bother to blog at all.

Today my manager treated our team for a dinner for her wedding 2 weeks ago. We were invited to Pu Tien, a restaurant at Kitchener road. They are very famous and have been featured on the papers and television shows for their Xing Hwa style food. It's my first time trying Xing Hwa food and it turned out pretty well. The dishes they have seemed very different to that of Hokkien style chinese restaurants. Though their dishes were either too salty or too blend, it was somehow their distinctiveness.

Or perhaps it's because my throat still wasn't feeling well and the blend dishes were suitable for me. Argh.... the coughing is giving me sleepless nights.....

Saturday @ Jurong!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Yeh..! It's the weekend again! It's been a rather stressing week for me at work, because I want to make sure I'm on par with my daily quota, and seeing my senior colleagues doing so well just makes me feel uneasy. It's a kind of envious mindset I guess, seeing others doing well and I'm not as good as them.

Well, I just have to work hard! Add Oil! Add Oil! Add Oil!

Today, Baby and I have decided to go shopping at some place that we seldom or have never been. And we thought of Jurong Point! Thought far, we heard that it has added an extension, and the place is so huge now! In my memories, I don't exactly remember ever beeen to Jurong Point before. I only know that the place is huge and it's always so crowded, when we see those variety shows held there.

The place is really really humongous! Shops and more shops! Restaurants after restaurants! And I like the colour theme of the mall, white! With tall ceilings and glass roofs, the whole mall just brightens up with the sunlight shining in. So comfortable being there, and we are just spoilt with choices, may it be clothes, jewellery, shoes, bags, food, to groceries. I managed to buy 2 tops from HURS. I like to buy clothes from this apparel store, and it was actually opened by my friend's friend. My friend, Sandy, told me that the owner of the store actually designs all of the clothes she sells, and they only make limited quantity per design, which makes it more unique and individual.

I'm not sure if it's due to the fact that it was recommended by my friend, but everytime I step into the store, I see something new and it just attracts me attention. I like the way her clothes are designed, and the colours are all just so sweet! For what I know, they have four outleys. First is located at Bugis Juntion, second at Central, third at Far East Plaza, and the newly opened one is at Jurong Point II. They sell unique apparels and bags, suitable for work and play, and their prices aren't very steep too. Neat!

We walked around the old and extended Jurong Point for awhile, were contented with our shopping spree, and it's time for our tummies to be content. So we walked around to see what we should eat, and realized that we were spoilt for choices! We once saw a variety show doing a feature on a stretch of Japanese restuarants there, and thought we can give it a try. We ended up having our dinner at YakiYakiBo! I was attracted to their Japanese Pancake, or was it Pizza, and wanted to give it a try. Baby ordered Seafood Fried Noodles, and I ordered Seafood Japanese Pancake. To top it off, a small plate of Sushi. It was a Tepanyaki style restaurant, and we watched the chef cook infront of us.

Their signboard is so cute! Enlarged version of their dishes!

Look! More enlarged version of their dishes!

Chef cooking our dinner!

Baby's order: Seafood Fried Noodles!...he said it's Japanese style mee goreng!

My Order: Japanese Seafood Pancake!

Both of us had a great dinner, and quite liked the food there. Next time we will try their Tepanyaki chicken or beef, because we saw the guys sitting next to us eating their tepanyaki set and it looked delicious. Heez!

Recently my brothers are crazy about Bejeweled in Facebook. They are playing pratically everyday, trying to break each other's record. Haha, at first I say they are siao, then I ended playing myself too. Actually I have ever played this game before, but playing it on facebook with my touch pad is alittle difficult to move fast. Haha.... I shall master the skill of playing with touch pad!

Outragous!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Today I heard the most outragous thing. I don't understand why there are pet owners who are so irresponsible!!

My colleague's relative, Boy A and his girlfriend, Girl A bought a Cockers Spaniel. They claimed to love dogs so they actually shared in paying for their pet. Girl A is studying in NTU and staying in the hostel, so she couldn't keep the dog with her. The dog was staying at Boy A's home, and Boy A's considered elderly mother will take care of the dog when all is not at home. Girl A will usually visit the doggy after school, and take care of it, like grooming and feeding it.

But one day, while Girl A was cleaning doggy's ears, she actually used rubber band to tie the doggy's ears to the back of it's head, so that it would not obstruct her while she cleans the ears. After cleaning, she had actually forgotten to remove the rubber band, and just rushed off to else where. Then for the next 2 consecutive days, Girl A was too busy with her studies and couldn't visit doggy. Guess what? The rubber band that was tied to doggy's ears weren't removed throughout the 2 days, and it got infection, to the extent that it's ears actually dropped off! Yes, like amputated... Omg!!!! The thought of it just makes my heart swell. It is only a 4 months old puppy!

How can there be no one else at home who noticed that the puppy's ears were tied up abnormally? My colleagues and I were coming up with possible scenarios on why no one else bothered to remove the rubber band from the puppy's ears. All came down to the same reason, neglection of their pet.

Sometimes I really don't understand why there are such irresponsible pet owners. If you can't take care of the pet, then don't buy it and ruined it's life. It could have found a much better owner who would have loved it, treasured it, and take good care of it. Not tieing it's ears up and letting it rot till it drops off. HOW CAN THEY LET IT HAPPEN TO THAT POOR PUPPY!!! The more I think of it, the more upset I am.

Poor Puppy... =(

No Monday Blues!!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Today both baby and me is on leave! Yipee! No Monday blues for this week, and I had a really looong weekend. Today I've decided to accomplish some things that I have been wanting to do but instead, kept dragging for a long time.

Firstly, today I woke up earlier than I should, and prepared a "big breakfast" for baby. Heez, there was scramble eggs, picnic ham, and french toasts. Its been awhile that I made breakfast for Baby. He was excited when I told him I'm preparing breakfast for him on Sunday. But we overslept, so I postponed my breakfast spread to today.

After a tummy filling breakfast, we slagged for awhile, and had to prepare to go out liao. We went to AMK Hub to open our joint account at DBS Bank. We have been talking about opening a joint account since last year, but always never bothered to do so. I just took care of our $$ in my own account. Heez, but since we were both free on a weekday, we had make good use of the opportunity.

After opening our account, we headed to Comfort Delgro Driving Centre at Ubi. Yes! Finally I've registered for my Basic Theory Test. My first test will be on 19th of May. Hopefully it will be one time pass! Crossing my fingers! But till now, we are still contemplating whether to go for Auto, or Manual.

Baby kept telling me to take Auto as it is easier, especially for me. And I will only be driving auto cars after I get my lisence. But on the other hand, baby drives manual, and there could be 'occasions' when I may need to drive his car. So learning manual will be much better, more of a win win situation. But baby keep saying it's easier to go for auto.... and I will be buying auto cars, so it's better to learn the more relevent way. Hai... still dunno leh.....

After everything was settled, we headed for Parkway Parade. Go there walk walk and have dinner before we head home. But end up, we went shopping again, and this time round, I found a nice bag by Hiroshima. It's a Japanese brand which I head before from my friend. She said it's very popular in Japan, and the design is suitable for office ladies. I liked one bag that was in the size that was very suitable for my files.

Remember that I bought a Charles & Keith bag for my work as we needed one to put our sales kit. I have been using it for awhile, but found that it's not very comfortable. Especially when the sales kit together with the directory can be really very heavy.

Baby liked the bag too and wanted to buy it for me. I didn't want to buy it on impulse, so we were like trying it for very long time. The sales auntie was very patient, and kept recommending me and telling me the good points about the bag. End up, baby wanted me to buy the bag, so he offered to pay half for it, and so, I bought it. $132......chiching! But the good point is that the bag was made with genuine leather and canvass fabric.... Nice!

Goody Friday!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

With the start of a long weekend, we had a gathering with my friends on Good Friday itself. The day started rather unpleasing, as we planned to have a picnic at Marina Barrage and it started to rain even before we set off. Well, our mood weren't dampen just by the rain, and we went ahead with meeting them at Marina Barrage itself.

We visited the "Museum" within Barrage itself and saw some nice decors made with recyclable materials such as water bottles and newspapers. I liked the concept of the decors and that the whole "museum" was with dim lights. Interesting ambiance, and we couldn't help but recall the times we had excursions during our schooling days.

These are the flooring of the "musuem"...nice!!

Baby...my Mr. Messy...while we were in the "musuem"

My fren Sihui!!

The two of us posing! It's dark there, but we didn't on the flash as it looks funny with the flash on.

After our little excursion, we went to the roof top garden to have our mini picnic. Luckily the rain had stopped awhile before we went up, and the weather was perfect for a little picnic gathering. There were alot of people there that day, and if it wasn't for the rain, there would probably be much much more people.

We took lots and lots of polariod photos and we just love it!!!

These are some shots with our cameras!

This is so cute!....Sihui & TengShang bought these masks during their taiwan trip! Haha

After our picnic and photo shooting session on the roof top, we hungry people headed for Paradise on Earth for a nice hot steamboat buffet!!! And yes, I recommended them to go there and eat! I hoped they liked the food! =)

Ooh! Lots of good food!

Not to forget their spicy home made chilli!

Next stop, we headed for Ben & Jerry @ Dempsy Hill. Baby and I didn't know that there was a B&J there, and we were thrilled when we reached there! There was live band there, I guess for most of the weekends. But most importantly, the singers were great! Baby said this place will be one good option for us in the future!

Our Yummy Ice Cream!!

We called it a day after a few ear pleasing songs... Just a great Good Friday!

Qing Ming festival

Today mommy, baby and myself woke up at 4.30am to get ourselves ready to set off to pray to our ancestors at three locations. Shamefully to say, this is actually my first time accompanying my mom to offer my respect at my ancestor'. In the past, it was always the elders who are involved in this mission once a year.

This year, mommy asked us along as she would have to drive alone all the way to the cemetery and she didn't know the way too well. Now that I have my weekends off, I'm more than willing to accompany mmmy, anyway it's only right for us to offer our respect to our ancestors. This year round, we have 3 locations to visit, first would be great grandmother, mommy's biological father, and grandma. It was still very dark when we reached our first location at the Choa Chu Kang Cemetery. Luckily we were in a large group together with my uncles, aunties and cousins.

But what surprised me was a lady who kept taking photos in another group of visitors. The flash lights from her camera kept me distracted, and I thought it was some young teenager from that other group who was interested in taking such photos. Then, out of a sudden, that lady came by to our side and I realized it was actually a middle aged lady. She identified herself as a reporter working on a "Qing Ming" story and wanted to take a photo of our group as we were the largest group she saw that day. So my uncles, aunties happily posed before the camera. It was rather interesting to meet such reporters, and it kept me wondering if our photo would ever be published. Heez.

After praying at Choa Chu Kang and Mandai, we headed for a lunch at Thompson and my uncle treated all of us as he striked 4D last Wednesday. After our lunch some of my aunties accompanied mommy and us to offer our respect to mommy's biological father at Bishan's Guang Ming Shan. It was my first time there and I was amazed with the sights I see. So many visitors!! We weren't allowed to burn incense in the air conditioned Columbian, so everyone had to offer their prayers outside where tents and tables were set up. We would only pray towards our loved ones in our heart.

Overall, it was a enriching day for me, having seen how "sao mu" is done.

My Driving License....seems so far away..!!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Been coping alright with my new job for after one and a half week. Basically like I mention in my previous blog, my new job requires me to travel around all parts of Singapore everyday. Though it can be rather tough, walking under hot sun, stomping through the heavy rains... But surprisingly, I still quite like my new job. It is what I truely call, challenging!

Because my department only accepts female sales executive, so majority of them would prefer to drive their own vehicle during work, which is definitely more convenient and suitable for a lady. So of course I will be tempted to finally pick up my driving lessons, and after which buy my very own car!

In the past, Mommy kept bugging me to pick up my driving lessons, and tried to psycho me by tempting to offer her car to me to drive if I got my license. But I didn't felt the need to as baby was as good as my personal driver. Though I feel bad to say it this way, but it's true what!... He drives me around where ever I want to go. But now, things have changed, the situation is different for me le. I get to drive my own car, and it is just so right and advantages to me as I will be offered higher transport allowance, and it would be much more convenient and efficient to meet my clients as the travelling time would be shortened and I can slot in more appointments within a day itself.

I am starting my basic theory studying, and hopefully I will be diligent enough to self revise, which I know would be pretty hard... Heez~ But to start things off, of course I will set my targets! Targets as in finding out what cars I should go for and which model in particular.

Basically my all time favorite car would be Beetle by Volkswagen. Cream or white is definitely my favorite, but the price of this car is sky high! Way too high to pay off for the monthly installments, I'll probably not have enough money to spend after paying for the car...

But it just too cute liao!!...So my style...Nvm, I'll save for it!!

Having to forsake the idea of buying Beetle, I need to give myself alternatives! So the next better player would be the beetle lookalike, March by Nissan. The design concept is obviously influenced by Beetle, but it is cute in it's own way lah. Some more I like that it's called March, the month of my birthday leh, was it meant for me?? Heez...

It is small & cute, just the way I like MY car to be....

But Baby said that March isn't very cheap too... and I wanted my budget to be as low as possible to prevent myself in having a heavy commitment, so we came up with yet another option....

That would be the simple and cheap Kia Picanto! My cousin drives the older version of the Picanto, and I find it alright when I was sitting at the passenger seat. It's small and good, and most importantly, cheap for a young lady like me to start my driving entourage! Kia has recently launched it's new face lift for their Picanto, and it looks cuter then ever!

Picanto! Cute!

Personally, I like small cars as they are easier to manage and I won't feel stressed when I'm driving it. Anyway my car will be meant for driving myself only. I'll most probably not have any passengers as I won't want to bring harm to others.

Anyway, I haven't even started my basic thoery, so I'll probably still be a long long way....
