Who wants to be a millionaire?

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Today the most bizarre thing happened at work. I went to work as usual, just that I was extremely late due to Baby's delay and the sickening traffic jam. I reach my work place with my boss already sitting in office, which is rather unusual as he is usually very late during the weekends. But of course we know it's because boss's father; the big boss, is in town, that's why everybody, including my bosses are so uptight.

But today the big boss, which we all call him "Father", wasn't in a very good mood and was in cold war with our boss. All of us were scared so we were just focused with working and not bothering about their personal issues. But never did we expect that "Father" would suddenly start to scold our boss at the top of his voice, right in front of all of us employees. Luckily we didn't understood what he was saying as he only speaks Iranian. Then I guess my boss was very upset as he told us all, in a nice tone, that we could go all go home early for the day. It was like only 11.30am, our day supposedly just started. So we all just quickly pack our bags and left the office as we knew a gunfire is going to happen in the office.

It was rather "drama" and scarey that such a thing would happen in one's work place. But what the heck, I am leaving anyway and since they allowed us to leave work early, I'm only gaining. Haha!

I met baby at bishan after doing some shopping with my colleague and we went home. On the way home it was raining very heavily so we made no plans to go out. But Baby suggested that we go for a movie in the night, to watch Slumdog Millionaire. I had always wanted to watch this movie but just didn't have the time. My colleagues told me how great the story was and how I would just love it. Baby said his friend went to watch and all the audience applauded when the show ended.

So we booked tickets to watch in the night at Plaza Singapura. We even met Baby's friend, Evon and he mother and her cute little daughter, Ling Ling.

"Slumdog Millionaire" is the story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"

But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show's questions.

Intrigued by Jamal's story, the jaded Police Inspector begins to wonder what a young man with no apparent desire for riches is really doing on this game show?

When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out...

Overall, we really liked the movie, because it was realistic and the show really featured the life and experiences of a poor Indian surviving and fighting all the obstacles and poverty in the slum areas of Mumbai.

It's a enriching show that features a young Indian boy applying what he had seen, done, learnt through his hardship to answering the questions in the famous entertainment show "Who wants to be a millionaire".

It's a show everyone should watch, it gives you a better understanding a different perspective of India!
