I found My Melody!!

zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Last night after work, we went for my shopping spree at isetan scotts. Max&Co. was having a big sale, like 90% off the original prices, and I managed to find 2 bottoms out of the chaotic mess. We were having our late dinner at Wisma's Food Republic, and Baby saw that the World of Sports was having pre-renovation sales. They were opened till 11pm, so we went in after we finished eating. End up, Baby bought 2 pair of shoes, one was Columbia and one was a pair of sport shoes from Mizuno. Though Baby already have too many pairs of shoes, some that he hardly even wears, but the shoes were really affordable grabs and 2 pairs only cost $99 bucks....

Actually I find that shopping for executive wear a tough challange. Especially when my new company is so strict and desciplined.

Today Baby was well prepared to go on a shopping spree with me at Bugis street. I haven't been there for more than a year, and my friends told me the shops there have multipled, and envirinment have improved too. My colleague also told me that the prices at bugis are far more competitive as compared to far east plaza.

I went there and there were really alot more small shops. Walking through the stretch of shops after shops, the atmosphere was so much similar to Platinum Mall in Bangkok. Baby also agreed with me, and he even joked that we don't need to travel to Bangkok to shop in the future, Bugis is good enough. Definitely no loh, Bangkok is still better and there are still far more choices of clothes, accessories and many many more!!

But today our shopping at Bugis was still rather rewarding, and I managed to buy 3 tops and 2 t-shirts, one of which was for baby too. However, the most fruitful purchase was a small shop that we found amongst the numerous apparel shops. It was actually selling all the Sanrio products, and most importantly, my favorite Melody!! The sales lady saw me looking at the melody products and started showing me all the Melody stuffs they had. They were all so cute!!.... and the lady was very friendly, not the common pushy or hard sell girls you meet often.

Baby was also amazed at the the number of melody products they carry. The sales lady even emphasized to me that they only carry original Sanrio products. I bought so many of the Melody stuffs!!... Look!

There are Melody files, note pad, pen, mechanical pencil, pencil rubber, ruler, and stickers!!

The lady told me that I went there alittle late, because they just got a bunch of Melody products last month, and most of it were sold out liao... They actaully travel to Japan or Taiwan to purchase new stocks often, and there is actually seasons for their products too. This April, it's going to be the season launch for new Little Twin Stars products, and they even have to queue to get hold of their stocks... Wow....

I can accumulate to $100 of purchase from their shop at Bugis or Liang Court in three months to sign up as their life time member. Today I only spent $60, so I still have $40 to go....!!

I Love My Melody!!! =p

There goes my sunday~

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

These few days have been rather repetitive for me. Baby have to work ot for 4 consecutive days and his work only ends at 10pm. So I had to be all alone, at home unfortunately. But it's a good opportunity for me to rest and rejuvenate and get myself mentally and physically prepared for my new job, new career, new life!!

I really have to buy new outfits for work as my wardrobe has rather limited presentable clothes for executive wear. My new job has a very disciplined environment and we have to dress appropriately as we have to meet clients most of the time. Unlike majority of the companies out there, Fridays we do not have dress down. Well, I'm actually fine with it as I also believe the importance of professional impressions and outlook.

I'm feeling rather relaxed now, and also mentally prepared for a new path ahead. I did suggest to baby for us to go for a short holiday to rejuvenate ourselves, but baby said we should save money and I should make use of my "holiday" to prepare myself. =(

Alright then, since no holiday, than we shall go for a shopping spree!!! In the past I have the impression that executive wear is very boring. Because there aren't many choices and the usual styles are suits and shirts. But...... fashion nowadays cater for executive wear too. There are more ways to dress, accessories suitable for suits, dresses, and shoes that doesn't look too orh biang~

I'll have new dressing style to explore now, new ways to keep myself "in" fashion! Oh....I'm just so excited man!

Pisces!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Today I came across this article about Pisces! Me! Kind of intersting, but not totally true I would say..... But this definately reminds me that my birthday is coming soon....1 month to go! 23 approaching.... =(

"Understanding" is a most appropriate keyword for this gentle, affectionate sign. Easygoing and generally accepting of others around them, Pisceans are often found in the company of a variety of different personalities. Their willingness to give of themselves emotionally lends to an aura of quiet empathy. A Pisces is comforting to be around. Although not likely to be the leader, this sign's presence is strong and vibrant in any cause into which they put their hearts.

Friends and Family

Gentle Pisceans make some of the best friends there are. In fact, they often put the needs of their friends ahead of their own. Loyal, dedicated, supportive, and compassionate, Pisceans will take on any problem. Big or small, when a challenge arises for family or friends, they will be there in every capacity possible to make things better. Deeply intuitive, Pisceans can often sense when something is askew long before anything is said. Pisceans are expressive by nature and don't hesitate to let those around them know how they feel. It's not surprising for a Pisces to write a song for someone or to buy a gift that is heartfelt and meaningful. They prefer others to be as open with them as they are. Communication with loved ones is considered most important.

Career and Money

Intuitive and often dreamy, Pisces natives are most comfortable in positions that bring their creative natures into humanitarian causes. Some good careers for this sign are lawyer, architect, veterinarian, musician, social worker, and game designer. The key phrase for this sign is "I believe." It's important for the Pisces to feel strongly about personal endeavors. Inspired by the need to make a difference in the lives of those they touch, Pisceans are most charitable and will often go way above and beyond the call of duty. Sensitive, deeply compassionate, hardworking, dedicated, and reliable, this is one sign that really knows how to get to the heart of the matter. They can be excellent problem-solvers. For the most part, Pisceans don't give money too much thought. They are more concerned with their dreams and goals than with money. Yet because this is oftentimes a component to reaching their aspirations, Pisces natives will ensure they have the money they need. They can be of two minds in this area. On one hand, the Pisces will spend, spend, spend with little thought, and on the other hand, they can become quite miserly. Yet in the end, there'll always seem to be enough to do what they want in life.

Love and Sex

Deep within the Piscean beats the heart of the diehard romantic. Loving, tender, and exceptionally giving, this sign cherishes intimacy deeply. They are passionate lovers that need to feel a real connection with their mates. Quick flings and superficial interludes do not do well with the Piscean whatsoever. In relationships, they are fiercely loyal and doting. They love to give gifts and to make the other person feel like a million bucks. Nothing is too good for the Piscean's love interest!

Woo Hoo!!!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Woo Hoo!!! Yipee!! I finally found my ideal job!! Today I went for an interview at Marshall Cavendish, and was accepted almost immediately. It's a sales executive position in a large publishing company. I would say it's exactly the kind of job I'm looking forward to. I really hope to carve out a successful career in this large MNC.

Lately life has been rather hectic for me as I have been searching for jobs almost everyday after work. My mind was never at ease ever since I started searching for jobs a few months back. Now that I have found the right job, I can finally tender my resignation. Yeh!! No more fu*kers!!! No more Su*kers!!! Im free!!!!

My colleagues are all really happy for me, but Nila said that she is happy and sad at the same time. Happy because she knows I can't wait to quit, sad because she will lose her closest partner and gossip friend. Heez~ I will also miss her too!!

Gathering with good old Friends~

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Yesterday we went for a gathering with Baby's ex-school-classmates at Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant @ Quality Hotel Singapore. We haven't really meet for almost a year, and it was a belated gathering for CNY.

They chose a vegetarian restaurant because SoonSiang's wife, Pei Shan was a vegetarian. Initially both of us thought that the food wasn't going to be impressive, or should I say, contenting. Since it's all going to be vegetarian, we thought that the food was going to be all glutons. Suprisingly, they had a wide variety of choices. From carrot cakes, siew mai, cha siew buns, sushi, fake mutton, fake pork, to fake sharks fin soup. It was a buffet style dining and you get to eat till u drop.

Weilin & Evon's Baby - Ling Ling...Cutex!

I was rather surprised to see so many diners there. In the past I would go to quality hotel for their supper porridge buffet with my ex-colleagues. Now, we have more choices for dinning.

Evon told us alot about her life now, taking care of her baby girl ling ling. She actually gave up her job to be a full time house wife, taking care of her baby. Majority of ladies out there think that it's a sacrifice of their own freedom and career to take care of their children at home. But I feel that it's important that at least one parent is there, all the time, to take care of their child. To be able to watch the whole process of your child's growth, be there when they walk their first step, speak their first word, and take care of them if they (touch wood) fall sick. If I have my own children, I will make sure that I have ample time to take care of them. If I have to give up my work to take care of my children, I might consider doing that too.

After our heartfelt dinner, we went to Bliss @ Punggol Park. Though the following day was Monday, we chatted all the way till 12.30am. All of us felt that we should meet up more often, rather then doing it once a year. It's quite enjoyable and we get to update each other on our lives more often. Looking forward to another gathering.

Our Valentines Day 2009

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

My valentines day started off with baby buying my favourite vegetarian bee hoon and waking me from my slumbers at 10.30am. We had our late breakfast together and baby headed off to work for an hour.

Baby had already given me my valentines gift last night, and it was one of my favorite books "Chicken Soup for the Romantic Soul". Heez, baby is so sweet, though he said he wasn't buying anything for me, but he still secretly went to buy for me. And he also realized that I like Chicken Soup books from gthe small collection that I already have. But I wasn't expecting any flowers as baby always complained that they are freaking ex during valentines.

I was too exhausted, probably accumulated over the past week, so I took a nap after our light lunch at about 3pm. I did woke up in intervals and couldn't find baby in sight, so I thought he was playing game in the living room.

I finally woke up at 5.30pm and went to bathe as we were having our dinner at my favorite Paradise on Earth steamboat... Yipee!!

While waiting for our food at POE!

When we walked to the carpark together to retrieve baby's car, I had the most pleasant surprise! Kuku was strapped to my seat with a bouquet of roses!!!!! Heez so cute!! Baby is so sweet!! There was a card attached to it, and it wrote....

Happy 28th Birthday Baby!!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

Happy birthday baby!! Love you lots lots accompanied by many bear hugs!!

Today I woke up with a headache, probably was too tired after last night's praying... But I woke up to excitement and happiness...excited because it's Baby's birthday, happy because we get to celebrate together tonight.

Usually I will come up with special celebrating ideas during Baby's birthday. However, this year, we are doing things simplier and quieter. Baby said it's the period of recession, so we shouldn't spend too much money on unimportant stuffs. But of course Baby's birthday is not considered unimportant la.... It's just that there is no need to go to posh restaurants or organize parties at chalets. Doing things the simple way doesn't mean it's not as good or meaningful~

I intended to get the chocolate banana cake from Secret Recipe for Baby. But by the time I went to the restaurant at Forum during my lunch time, their whole cakes were sold out. So I went to Sun Moulin at Isetan instead and managed to buy a 1 kg Chocolate Fudge cake. Their cakes and pastries are very fresh and taste great. Their prices are very reasonable too, not overpriced.

After work baby came to fetch me and we went to have our favourite hotplate steak near Baby's office. Like I mentioned, we didn't planned to go anywhere expensive, we just went to somewhere we like and would enjoy.

I like the box, simple and sweet!

Yummy Chocolate Fudge Cake~

Fresh Fruits and Fudge not too sweet~

HeeHeez~ Cute Smile!

Ops....28 years old le~ Old liao~

Baby can't wait to cut his cake after making a wish and blowing his candles~

Emmm~ Red Wine with Chocolate cake~ What an enjoyment!

Baby's Birthday.....Valentines' Day....!!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa*

Why do people have to make important decisions all the time?.... Sometimes have you ever wondered if the decision you made will lead you to a wrong path?.... or it made be a decision that leaves you in regret for the rest of your life?

Well, I came across an offer which lead me thinking all day all night. It was the Corporate Sales(outdoor) job I mentioned a few blogs back. The manager called me and said that I was selected for the job, but I think it was the first time I felt so unhappy and confused when being offered a job. Baby didn't like the idea of running outdoors and meeting clients as he thought that it was too tough for me. He didn't want me to eat "bitter", moreover, the basic was way too low to even cover my monthly expenses.

I went for CNY dinner with Lao da and HLM buddies on Friday, and they too told me it's not a good job at all. So..... I rejected the offer, and my job search goes on......

Tomorrow is Baby's 28th birthday le!.... Time really flies... christmas....new year...cny...baby's bd...valentines day....my birthday...... This year we are kind of on low profile, everything just simple and sweet. I actually bought over the lap top Siong won at his company's DnD for Baby. I thought it was more practical and useful for Baby, and even mommy thought so. Baby loved it and he can use it anytime, anywhere. It's a 2 in 1 gift as V day is ao near.... but don't know if Baby's gonna buy me anything on Vday....Heez~

Today is the last day of CNY liao, I specially took leave to enjoy this day. Tonight there's gonna be alot of people at temple.... have praying....lion dance....dragon dance.... Yipee!!

Patience....!

*zHigUo + xiNhUi = kUkU & LaLa *

My job search goes on... After getting my unreasonably deducted AWS bonus, I'm more than determined to find a new job. I guess probably many people are still switching jobs after their year end bonus, so the frequency of new jobs online are higher.

I went for an interview this morning and it was for a recruitment consultant position. It was rather associated to sales, but more towards tele-sales such as cold calling. I would say it is something new to me because I've never done recruiting jobs or any jobs associated to it. But I take it as a challange and a new breakthrough for myself. Well, anyway I think I didn't really do well for my interview this morning because the interviewer was rather harsh with her questions and prompts.

I don't know about others, but I tend to feel demoralized after a unsuccessful interview. It's like back to square one, you have to look out for suitable jobs again, send your resume, wait for them to call you (provided they do), wait for them to schedule an interview, specially take leave to attend the interview, get nervous to prepare yourself for the interview, attended interview, wait for their response, get dissappointed when they don't call you, and then the cycle goes on......

It's pretty tiring lor, but in order to take the step forward, I would need to perservere. Today I was watching the news and it was featuring reports and feedbacks from recruitment companies on jobs searching in this unrecovering economic crisis. They mentioned that serveral companies are more cautious and stringent on selecting candidates. Some companies have freezed on recruiting new employees, and some even put their final recruiting decision on hold to observe the market.

These reports inevitably reminds me on where my stand is in this vast ocean of jobless graduates who are enthusiastic and ready to prove their knowledge and capabilities. It's really demoralizing, yet again.
