I was chatting with Faith yesterday on msn, and we were discussing about our ROM, and plans for our new flat and customary. And I found out that she would most likely be holding her ROM with SY next year. Wow, that was fast... and they are short listing suitable locations to hold their solemnization already. I found out from Faith that those hotels, country clubs, or restaurants actually increase their rates every year. So if lets say you are holding your event next year, and you make you booking this year, you still get to enjoy this year's rates. Which means, Baby and I have to get ready by mid next year, shortlist the locations we want, and make our booking latest by next year end. You see, we have to be more kan chiong then other people because we want to hold our ROM on 10/10/10. Which is one of the very "hot dates" for wedding or solemnization, or what I prefer to call, matrimony.
After chatting with Faith, I was like so excited and I went to check out forums and search engines. Which I came across this "commercial" blog known as woyaoziehunle.blogspot.com. I found it quite complete and useful because it featured almost every information you need to get yourself prepared for your wedding dinner, solemnization, decorations, food, flowers, wine, etc. I shared some locations to Baby, and he was like, "huh, need to book so early meh?" , and like "those places let you book 1 year in advance meh?"..... Very demoralizing right?.... But I explain to him what Faith told me, and he was more into the whole picture liao. Then he was like worrying about the expenses and the first thing he was concern was my proposal ring and our wedding bands. Proposal ring is not an issue as I already got him to buy a nice 0.70ct solitaire ring for me as future proposal before I quit working at Aspial last year. As a trained eye, and professional jeweller, of cause I have to choose my own best diamond and get the best discount right?.... But of cause, Baby is allowed to upgrade the diamond right before our expected ROM day to a larger one, say 1 carat?.... wahahahaha! My ex colleagues are like asking him when he want to upgrade, they all wan to help me source for the "perfect" diamond to upgrade liao.. Actually it doesn't matter whether he upgrades or not, not meaning I don't like larger solitaire, but I know he has his difficulties. Most important is he makes sure he gets my wedding band, and I get his wedding band for him. Heez~ Not very expensive lah, if I wanted to go for the one with diamonds, would be triple the price, so don't complain okie? =)
We have to save save save!!! After we come back from our trip to Thailand of cause, but I have already set aside the money to spend liao. Now just have to get prepared to travel, and enjoy ourselves first, don't want to give Baby anymore stress liao... Heez~

Vegetarian Wedding Dinner

Sunday evening, we went to Orchid Country Club to attend Baby's friend, Soon Siang's wedding dinner. Its not the first time I've been there for dinners, they had the same old stunts such as the fire torch, wedding couple being asked to give a speech, but this time they excluded the buggy ride. The only fresh experience we had for this dinner was that the whole 9 or 10 course was vegetarian food. To be honest, I didn't quite enjoy the food, because its like you finish the one dish, you won't be excited about what's next, as you know its just another dish made of the same ingredients, just tasting differently.
However, each time I attend a dinner, I get to learn more things and try out new places as options for my wedding dinner in the near future. One of the most possible options is the hotel my uncle held his dinner. I'm not going to say where it is first, but I really liked that hotel because its not extremely expensive, and the dishes are good. The ambiance was really great, very romantic. and the ballroom wasn't too big, which is suitable for baby and me because he doesn't have alot of relatives. But of cause it's still early to really decide where I want my dinner now, I'm still open to options.
It's really exciting to be planning all these wedding stuff, for me, not Baby... Heez.. Because for every lady, it's like a dream since young, to have "the" perfect wedding. Especially for me, I'm quite picky~ I will make sure that the ambiance is good, the food is good, my dresses look great, and my guests feel comfortable. Talking about all these just makes have this adrenaline feeling.
